ROAD LEVY PRESENTATION WITH MAYOR TYLER

Mayor Tyler joins us after lunch for pie
and to discuss Issue #1, the Kirtland Road Levy. He will be here around Noon on
Wednesday, May 1. Please sign up with Jenna by April 26 so we can order enough
pie for everyone in attendance. FREE!
CLIMBING YOUR FAMILY TREE—GENEALOGY
CLASSES
Wednesday afternoons, from May
8-29
12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $8 per
person
Are you interested in researching your family tree but
never found the time or knew where to begin? In this class, you will learn how
to preserve your family history for future generations to come. All you'll need
is a three-ring binder with dividers, a notebook, and pencil. So grab your
detective hat and let’s get started! Classes are Wednesday afternoons from
12:30-2:30 from May 8-29. Cost is $8 per person.
IPAD and WI-FI . . . are available at the
center.

FREE informational session
Obtain the access code from the office. The center also has a wireless printer
in the office to make copies from your Smartphone, tablet device, or laptop for
ten cents each. The center also has an iPad for your use. Sign it out of the
office. Have questions about what all of this means? Learn how it all works on
Tues., May 14 at 10:30 at a free informational session. It’s easier than you
think! The iPad does not involve typing on a keyboard. It is an electronic
touch screen device that can be used for internet searches, printing documents,
and more!
PICNIC
Thursday, May 23 at Noon
Cost: $5 per person; due by Monday, May 20
Join us for our first pavilion picnic on Thursday, May 23 at Noon. The meal is
fried chicken, jo-jo potatoes, cucumber salad, dessert, and beverages from
Kirtland’s Market. Cost is $5 per person and due by Monday, May 20.

Enjoy a free lunch from our lunch site, compliments of the senior board. Board
member Jr. Orick has chosen a menu of Salisbury steak, gravy, mashed potatoes,
and peach pie for dessert on Tuesday, May 28. A reservation is needed by May 22
— call the kitchen at 256-3194.

Activities / Membership Informaion
The Kirtland Senior Center offers a variety of recreational activities to adults 55 and over. Membership to the Senior Center is $10 for residents for the first year and $5 to renew each year thereafter. Members are mailed a copy of the Kirtland Senior Newsletter each month. The newsletter contains detailed information about ongoing and upcoming programs and activities. Activities include:
- Billiards Room
- Bingo - Tuesday at 12:15
- Birthday Celebration Lunch - 2nd Friday of each month
- Bocce Ball
- Cards - Friday at 12:15
- Free Blood Pressure Checks - 4th Thursday of each month
- Lunch – Monday through Friday at 11:30 (call 256-3194)
- Massage
- Meals on Wheels (call 205-8111)
- Monthly Book Talks - 4th Tuesday of each month at 10:00
- Watercolor Painting
- Podiatry Services - 1st Wednesday of each month
- Strength Training
- Tai Chi
- Video Magnifier

Special luncheons with entertainment occur each month, please call the Senior Center for more details!
Lunch Information
Congregate lunches are served Monday through Friday through a program sponsored by the Lake County Council On Aging. The Lunch Site serves nutritious meals to adults 60 and over for a $1.25 donation. Meals-on-Wheels are also available from this site. Reservations are required for both and can be made by calling 256-3194.
