CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION

When hiring a contractor, residents should confirm that the contractor has registered in the City of Kirtland.  Registration is NOT required for contractors that are snow plowing or landscaping (unless the landscaping involves construction -- i.e. decks and patios).

All contractors registering in the City are required to provide proof of insurance and a license bond before a certificate of registration is issued. 

A contractor’s certificate of registration may be suspended by the Zoning Inspector under certain circumstances.  Any questions concerning the status of a contractor’s registration should be directed to the Zoning Office at 440-256-3332, ext. 3.


SPECIAL NOTE
On November 2, 2010, voters in the City of Kirtland passed Ballot Issue #5 -- Zoning Amendments. Pursuant to Kirtland's Charter, these amendments became effective on Monday, November 29, 2010.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. Complete applications, including required supporting documentation, must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the Planning and Zoning meeting in order to be placed on the agenda for that meeting.
